THANE: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Central Railway (CR) has shaped a railroad flooding relief group (RFRT) to help commuters in the event of waterlogging through monsoon.
The statement has been made by Alok Kansal, GM, Central and Western Shore in a drill held by this staff at Talao Pali at Thane on Tuesday morning.
The evolution comes a year after numerous passengers aboard the Mahalakshmi state were stranded in Badlapur whereas the demand for a more instantaneous and localized rescue mechanism in the railways has been sensed.
“Each group is going to have a sub-inspector/assistant sub-inspector and six employees in the RPF and can be set up in Thane, CSMT, Matunga, Badlapur and Kurla channels.
Every one of those teams are going to have an inflatable motor-powered ship.
Thus far, 5 women and 10 men are educated by NDRF and much more employees will shortly be added,” explained a railroad .
“Our teams have been educated by NDRF and are prepared to deal with any crises.
The groups will be busy between June to October annually and track places throughout high tide or heavy rainfall forecasts and coordinate with local civil figures,” said Arun Kumar, director general, RPF, Railway Board, New Delhi.
The railroad teams apprised the press concerning the pre-monsoon activities taken over Mumbai suburban regions of Central and Western Railways, such as building additional castles along with personalized options, such as perennial flooding areas.
