Mumbai: Central Railway (CR) won a prestigious environment and a hygiene shield at the 66th National Railroad award 2021.
“It has been leading in environmental conservation and has taken various steps towards achieving this goal,” said CR General Manager Anil Kumar Lahoti.

Automatic coach washers, waste treatment plants, water cycling plants and waste treatment plants have produced 1 crore liter water yields per day.
This is the highest capacity of wastewater treatment capacities in other zones of Indian trains.
