Patna: The central team of six members reached Patna on a two-day visit on Monday for a compensation assessment in a place caused by floods in Darbhanga and Bhagalpur Regency.
The team led by the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Houses Uni, R K Singh, held a meeting with the State Disaster Management Department official (DMD) before visiting Darbhanga on Monday itself.
They will judge damage to Bhagalpur on Tuesday, the DMD source said.
The central team will hold a meeting with the Head of Secretary of Tripurari Sharan, a senior DMD official and head of another department before returning to Delhi on Tuesday night.
“This will be a question and answer meeting.
The Central Team wants to have more information and details of state government officials, or answers to some questions, if any,” said a source, adding that the details sought by the team are usually sent via email.
State officials may also submit details of the assistance sought by the government from the center of the damage caused by the flood this year.
DMD has prepared a revised record of the extent to which damage since June until now, said the source.
The central team will compare state reports with its own assessment and then measure the number of central assistance to be provided by the center.
Incidentally, Darbhanga was still destroyed by Bagmati, who also passed Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Khagaria and the Khagaria district and flowed above the danger in most places along the downstream on Monday.
The water level is 1.17 meters above the level of danger in Benibad in Muzaffarpur and 1.14 meters in Hayaghat in Darbhanga.

Floodwaters have violated Ismailpur-Bindtoli Bund, flooded seven blocks of North Bhagalpur, besides entering the city of Naugachhia.
Kosi, famous for causing soil erosion after flooding recede, has devoured the part of several villages such as Kaharpur in Block Bihpur.
In addition, the NH-80 has been damaged by flood water and becomes unable to be dimmed by a stretch of length as after Sabour in the Kahalgaon route.
