Centre asks states to Attract 1.97 cr Bad under food Safety Policy

NEW DELHI: The Centre has asked state authorities to establish a”particular drive” to spot almost 1.97 crore bad, especially from the most exposed groups like road dwellers, rag pickers, hawkers and rickshaw pullers, that can find the charge cards to avail highly leveraged foodgrain each month under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
The ministry, in its communication to most countries, has mentioned they can use the available policy below the NFSA limitations for it.
In reaction to a query from TOI, food secretary Sudhanshu Pandey shared the amount of ration cards which both states and UTs may issue without breaking the ceiling adjusted for every country under the NFSA.
He explained 14 countries have a 100% policy .
The countries are replicating replicate or fake ration cards to avoid wastage of highly specialized foodgrains and been incorporating fresh bonafied beneficiaries.
According to the round, there are lots of reports and grievances via websites, NGOs and people that are vulnerable and weakest segments of this society, that are in desperate need of foodgrains, are not able to procure ration cards.
“It’s felt that a few of the destitute and poor individuals, that also might not possess speech evidence, might be finding it hard to get a ration card” it said while urging them to tackle the particular drive.

Speaking to colleagues, Pandey also stated says Bihar, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh have witnessed greater trades under the One Nation One Ration Card strategy to find the subsidized foodgrain from almost any ration store of inheritance’ option in their home state or outdoors.
The government statistics reveal that from their complete 19.8 crore for example trades before 13 months, Bihar enrolled a max of 1.17 crore trades followed closely by 91 lakh at Rajasthan, 42 lakh at Andhra Pradesh and also 35 lakh Telangana.
