NEW DELHI: Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that the Centre’s Goal is to Decrease road accident deaths by 50 Percent from the year 2024.
Addressing a digital session on’Role of Corporates at Arresting Road Fatalities’ ordered by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Gadkari congratulated the company figure to the statement of Road Safety consortium’Safar’,” depending on the immune system strategy and discharge of a white paper on street security for your corporate world.
The Minister also emphasised the requirement for identification of’black area’ in each country, district and town, and stated that the World Bank and ADB have sanctioned a strategy where the Centre is devoting Rs 14,000 crores for nations, National Highways Authority of India as well as other stakeholders to get rid of black spots.
The Minister stated that his Ministry is trying hard to decrease road crash deaths by speeding and bolstering ‘E of street security –Engineering (such as street and auto production ), Economy, Enforcement and Education.
“The corporate world must execute the independent polls to recognize the motives behind the injuries along with a report could be filed into the NHAI,” he proposed.
The Minister further pointed out that 50 percent of those road injuries are the result of road engineering issues and the government has required specific efforts to enhance the black place.
“This can greatly contribute to the vision of’zero street injury’ at India.
The alliance of NGOs, social businesses, universities is necessary for awareness and education,” he stated announced an independent road safety council, led by a retired IAS officer could come into force in 15 days.
