Mysuru: Century Old New Model School (NTMS) in Narayana Shastri Road, which was emptied recently, was destroyed on Monday late at night with strict police security.
Last week, the school shifted to the nearby Maharani PU College campus.
At present, 71 students study at school.
Can be remembered that through orders on January 1, 2013, the state government ordered the school and land measuring 36,591.66 square feet to Ramakrishna ashram for the construction of Viveka warnings.
The transfer process was taken in October 2019.
It was stopped after protests by progressive organizations.
Speaking to Toi, the leaders of the farmers including Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Hosakote Regency, Rajya Raitha Sangha Mysuru Unit President P Maransaiiah, Kannada activist Sr.
Sudarshan told that they were detained around 11:30-PM-11.40 afternoon when they decided to protest against demolition school.
The police detained several activists to allow school demolition.
They were then released at 6:30 a.m.
on Tuesday.
“We will hold meetings of all the same-minded organizations immediately to decide on future actions,” said Sr.
Sudarshan.
