MUMBAI: Nathu Vithal Rathod, CEO of state-owned Aarey Dairy, has been detained by the anti-corruption agency (ACB) on Monday for allegedly looking for a Rs 50,000 shield by a slumdweller at Aarey Colony. Rathod was held following his office helper, Arvind Tiwari, was arrested while allegedly taking the amount on his benefit. The ACB’s Mumbai unit reserved them under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The article of this CEO is of Course I ranking, on level with a helper collector. According to the ACB, the complainant has a home near Peninsula 32 within Aarey Colony at Goregaon (East). He’d sought permission to mend it until monsoon. Any renovation or repair in Aarey demands sanction in the CEO’s office. ACB sources said Rathod requested the complainant to fulfill Tiwari, who reportedly demanded Rs 50,000. Authorities stated May 14, the complainant, who didn’t want to pay the bribe, approached the ACB’s office to file a complaint. On Monday, the complainant went together with ACB officials at mufti who put a snare for Tiwari. They shot him Rathod’s Worli office and challenged them collectively. Tiwari stated he chose the bribe in Rathod’s behest. Afterwards, ACB officials completed a search of their homes, said resources. Environmentalist Stalin D stated,”A comprehensive research has to be carried out.” In 2011, the then CEO L R Bhosale has been captured by ACB while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to award a contract to a private builder.
