Mumbai: The state government said on Monday told Bombay the High Court that the date for the joint entry test (CET) for the acceptance of junior colleges would be told only after the SSC exam results were stated.
It responded to the request from Ramesh Judicial bench Dhanuka and Riyaz Chagla on the petition by an ICSE student, Ananya Patki from Ies Orion School, Dadar, tried to cancel the May 28 notification stating “acceptance of XI / Junior College in Maharashtra will be based on the CET to be based In the SSC Syllabus Board.
“His father, suggested Yogesh Patki, filed that CET would be held on July-late or early August.
He said students who appear will be given the first preference to enter.
“This is a complete discrimination.
I do not have a position to appear …,” said Patki, urging the court to remain a notification of May 28, said the mother would be prejudiced.
“If I get 92% and because I don’t give CET, I have to go to Thane, Kalyan, Dombivli Colleges.” The state advocate Jyoti Chavan told the judges that the date CET was not decided.
Judges, in their order, noted that, at this stage they did not tend to provide temporary assistance.
Post the trial on July 22, they direct the country to reply to the problems raised in the petition.
