Mumbai: Ending the confusion and anxiety over the date of CET in Maharashtra, the Minister of Higher Education Uday Samant announced a schedule for all entrance exams on Tuesday.
The exam, delayed because of the second wave of Covid, will be carried out from October 15 – October 10.
More than 8.6 candidates are waiting for CET’s behavior to reception to professional courses, including engineering, MBA, Law and Architecture.
The minister said the academic session for these courses will begin on November 2, and the decision to do offline will be taken based on the Covid situation at that time.
The MHT-CET exam for acceptance to engineering, pharmaceuticals and agricultural courses, taken by more than five lakh, will be held from September 20 – October 1, Samant said.
He added that the results for all entrance examinations will come out on October 20 and the class will begin in November.
He said they planned to improve exam centers to ensure social distance and other Covid protocols strictly followed, and students were not forced to travel remotely to reach the center.
The state will ensure that 85% of registered students will get the first preference center and other centers based on the second preference.
CET is usually done in March and the other entrance exams in April-May.
Delays can affect the academic session.
