Chain-snatcher was shot by police near Chennai

Chennai: The police on Monday shot dead a man who took a golden chain of a woman near Sriperumbudur on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Murthasa, 25.
The police caught his accomplice, identified as Naeem Nadissa, 28, from Jharkhand.
The duo seized the Indira gold chain, 55, which stands at the bus stop near Sriperumbadur Tollgate.
When the woman lifted an alarm, some people passed trying to chase the duo.
They opened fire in the air and escaped by jumping to the lake.
More than 200 police were deployed to hunt duo.
Police, who use drones to track them, pay attention to them near Mevalurkuppam.
One of the Duo fired a shot at the police chief, who in retirement shooting him death.
The police suspected that the duo had been involved in the robbery incident in the area on October 4 where Tasmac employees were killed.
The source of the police said the duo had done a rough job in several industries.
