Tokyo: The head of the Thomas Bach Olympics will arrive in Japan on July 8, the Tokyo 2020 committee said on Wednesday because they made a final preparation for a Postponed pandemic game.
Bach was originally expected to visit Tokyo in May, but the trip was canceled on the boundary of the virus.
Tokyo 2020 said Bach would isolate for three days on arrival, adding that the head of the International Olympic Committee was vaccinated.
He hoped to visit Hiroshima on July 16 to coincide with the start of the Olympic ceasefire, the organizer added.
The ceasefire – adopted by the United Nations – aims to ensure the termination of all hostilities, enabling a safe and athletic participation and audience for the match.
IOC will hold a council meeting in Tokyo from July 17 and a public meeting from July 20, with the expected voice in Brisbane as the Host Olympics 2032.
Only a few weeks remaining until the opening ceremony of Tokyo 2020 on July 23, with several Olympic teams already in this country.
The game will take place under strict rules, with foreign fans prohibited and local spectators are limited.
Polls have found most Japanese people prefer to see the game being postponed or canceled than held this year, although the opposition has softened in recent weeks.
Japan has experienced a relatively small coronavirus outbreak and has now exceeded a million dose a day in its vaccination program.
But infection increases in the capital and steps that limit the sales of alcohol and opening hours are expected to be expanded, perhaps in the game.
