Jammu: The head of the General Army M M Naravane is in a two-day visit to Jammu from Wednesday where he will review the security situation and operational preparedness, officials said.
This is his second visit to Jammu in the past for two weeks in the midst of a sustainable operation against terrorists in the forest belt in Twin Poonch and Rajouri, which is the longest in the past which has entered the 24th day on Wednesday.
“General MM Naravane #COAS (Army Chief of Staff) is visiting the Jammu area where it will be given renewal of the security & preparedness of the operational preparedness.
#COAS will visit advanced areas & interact with troops and commanders on the ground,” More Information Directorate General of Information Public (ADGPI) Indian army tweeted.
Previously, the Chairman of the Army held a two-day tour in the Jammu area on October 18 and 19 and reviewed land situations and ongoing counter-infiltration operations.
He also visited the Rajouri and Poonch border district, where massive surgery to track terrorists hiding in the Forest area of Mendrar, Surankote and Thanamandi has been going on since October 11.
