Chairman of the Army MM Naravane Review 12 ship construction for Patrolling Pangong Tso

Panaji: Army Chief of Staff (CoAs) General Manoj Mukund Naravane visited Goa Shipyard Limited on Saturday to review the construction of 12 fast patrol boats that were obtained to patrol large water in high altitude areas such as Lake Pangong Tso on Ladakh.
General Naravane was given a direction in the composite ship construction methodology at GSL’s Glass Reinforced Plastic Facility.
The Chairman of the Army was also briefed on the ability of the first prototype ship onboard platform which was recently launched, the GSL chairman and Nagpal BB Nagpal Implementing Director.
The need for this new high-speed vessels to patrol Lake Pangong Tso was felt after military clashes between Indian and Chinese forces, which lead to a tense situation in the actual control line (LAC).
The head of the Army was in Goa as part of an official visit to the command of the South Army Indian army.
General Naravane reviewing various other projects executed in shipyards and conducting short sea sortie in rapid interceptor crafts designed by GSL designed by GSL.
The Indian army signed a 65 Crore Rs contract with GSL for the construction of 12 rapid patrol vessels under the procurement of emergencies.
These boats will be deployed for supervision and patrol in a water body including high altitude regions.
12 fiberglass ships built by GSL will be equipped with machine guns and supervisory equipment including optical sensors.
The army engineer at the Chief Lt of General Harpal Singh has reviewed the construction of the ship, the initial trial and construction rate in June.
Nagpal gave the chairman of the army from various modernization of infrastructure activities that had been completed and ongoing.
