Chanda Admin projects 20K patients in the 3rd wave

Chandrapur: projects the number of patients to reach 20,000 during the third wave of covid pandemic, the district administration has begun preparation to deal with it.
Head of the Legislative Public Account Committee and former Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar held an online meeting with collectors, health officials, Mayor of Chandrapur, ZP President and representatives of others to take stock of administrative readiness to deal with the third wave.
During the meeting, the Ajay Gulhane collector said the government had expected the number of Covid patients to 20,000, including around 9,000 items to be accommodated at the Covid Treatment Center (CCCS).
This district will require 2,500 oxygen beds, 850 ICU beds and 425 bed ventilators to treat patients received, he said.
Collectors say at this time 4,000 patients can remain in CCCS and there are 1,300 oxygen beds available in the district.
There are 105 ventilator beds where 94 ventilators function.
The administration has sent a proposal that is looking for 50 ventilators from the Division Commissioner and 80 of the Ministry of Medical Education.
Of these, 24 ventilators have arrived but this has not been activated.
Mungantiwar said that the Dean of Chandrapur GMch must send a proposal for the remaining ventilator and follow up.
Gulhane said there was a requirement of 57 metric tons of liquid oxygen, where 56.34 MT was available.
Immediately 200 beds will be available at the Jumbo Care Center, 200 in Somayya Polytechnic and 475 in rural hospitals, collectors said.
Detailing the situation of mucormycosis in the district, Gulhane said a total of 107 mucor patients had been found so far.
While 66 has recovered and discharged, 36 is in care, he said, adding five patients to give up on mukormycosis so far.
He also informs that the bed monitoring system will be used today.
The district has many stock medicines and all the preparations needed to handle the third wave will be completed on August 15, he added.
Mungantiwar look for details of the beneficiaries of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule scheme and asking collectors to bring more hospitals under the ambition.
He directed ZP President and district health workers to prepare white paper on condition 65 public health centers in the district.
District Health Officers said that the district did not have permission to recruit medial officers based on contracts.
