Chanda Civic Body to do Vax Verification Drive

Written by news2in

Chandrapur: In the movement aimed at increasing vaccination drives that slowed down at City, Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC) has decided to take the inspection drive to verify the vaccination status of super spreader in the city.
What is found unknown must present a negative report from the RT-PCR test conducted in the last 15 days, the other experienced a direct RT-PCR test and face penalty.
CMC officials said it was an established fact that vaccination was the only solution to the Coronavirus and the only way to stop the towering third wave.
However, statistics show that vaccination drives at City Chandrapur are hampered after being reluctant and misunderstandings among people towards vaccination.
There are more than 3 Lakh residents who qualify for vaccination.
However, so far only 1.49 lakh people have been affixed and only 69,098 of them have completed their second dose.
With vaccinations stagnating around 50% at the time when the third wave threat looked large, CMC had decided to encourage residents for vaccination.
Officials have taken two branches to handle the situation.
At first, CMC will start a door-to-door vaccination drive for people with disabilities, senior citizens and patients in bed from September 27.
The Civic body will release two Helpline numbers and Google forms.
Those who meet the requirements under the drive that requires vaccination can call the helpline number or fill out the Google form to call the vaccination team to their homes.
The second step is to check the status of probable super-spreader vaccination such as vendors, salesmen, shop owners, traders, laborers and people roam the streets.
This drive will also start from September 27.
Those who are found without a vaccination certificate must present their negative reports of RT-PCR tests carried out in the last 15 days.
Those who fail to do so have to undergo an immediate RT-PCR test and face penalty and action, according to the legal provisions of the pandemic.
This step is intended to motivate people to take vaccines, officials said.
