Chandrapur: Corporator and leader of Shahar Vikas Ahadi Pappadu aka Pradeep Deshmukh on Tuesday filed a police complaint against the Mayor of Kancharglar and Commissioner of the City of Rajesh Mohite to prevent him from attending the Municipal Corporation General Agency (CMC) meeting monthly.
Deshmukh claimed that the monthly general body meeting was held at 1pm at Rani Herai Hall in the CMC building on Tuesday.
Although the meeting was held online after the restrictions of Covid, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chair of the committee standing and different group leaders in corporations was allowed to attend directly.
Deshmukh collected that when he reached CMC at 12:50 a.m.
to attend a meeting, the police and corporate employees did not allow it inside.
The police have locked the building from inside and told Deshmukh that the mayor and Commissioner had instructed not to allow anyone inside.
When he was rejected, Deshmukh protested virtual and commissioner by shouting the slogan and tore his clothes, the source said.
He then filed a complaint to the city police against the mayor and commissioner because he did not allow him to attend a meeting of the public.
Deshmukh claimed he would expose corruption which was worth Crores Rupees in the corporation during public body meetings with substantial evidence.
“The Mayor and Commissioner make the whiff plan and therefore they behave to prevent him from attending the meeting,” Dishmukh said.
On accusations of Deshmukh, Kancharlawar clarified that no leader of the invited opposition party was rejected.
“The police and guards are placed at the entrance for security purposes.
The guards are ready to allow Deshmukh inside.
However, he was accompanied by a horde and wanted to bring everyone else in the building.
Therefore, the guards did not allow him and others to enter the building,” he said.
