“To facilitate vaccination of all students 18 years and above, special vaccination camps will begin at three sites, PEC, College of Engineering and Technology, Sector 26 and Postgraduate Sector 46, from July 12,” said Dr Amandeep Kang, Director of Health Services , UT.
He said, “The target is to reach 100% vaccination of students so that the college campus is safe for students, teachers and other employees.” Until now, 2,04,554 beneficiaries in this age group were vaccinated.
Drive for 18 years and over starting from May 14 in the city.
“Because of changes in vaccination supply policy, the dose is not enough even while more demand.
This slows the speed of the number of shots.
However, with the time and ease of supply, we have been able to provide more than 5,500 doses a day to this age group,” said an official in the Department Health.
There were 6,31,338 residents in the city over the age of 18, according to selection scrolls.
Of this amount, 3,80,501 is between 18 and 44 years.
“If we discuss this part of society, we can achieve our first dose coverage for the city on July-end of the first week of August,” said an official at the Ministry of Health.
