Chandigarh: expect, breastfeeding women to vaccinate

Chandigarh: Expecting that after two weeks will fall on the beneficiaries of 18-44 age groups for Covid-19 vaccination because most have taken their first dose, the UT health department plans to target pregnant women and nursing mothers who come to hospital.
“We will advise them in antenatal clinic.
This section has been abandoned because the recent announcement allows them to be borne in vaccination programs,” said Director (Health Services), UT, Dr.
Amandeep Kang.
Meanwhile, 75,000 covisheild doses will be accepted by the Chandigarh Ministry of Health on July 8 to the 56% of the beneficiaries between 18 and 44 years have received the first dose.
The UT health department will also go to the village and slums to drive vaccination.
“We have started vaccination in public places using our mobile van services in places such as Lake Sukhna.
Most people worry about coming to hospitals, public public places are comfortable for them.
We will station ambulance in places like That, “Dhs said.
There are around 40,000 pregnant women in Chandigarh registered under antenatal care.
“Because there have been changes in policies where initially told that the vaccine would have contraindications for this group, there must be counseling for this section,” said an UT health department official.
Vaccination for the 18-year-old group began on May 14 in the city.
However, this date is the largest recipient group that has received the first dose of vaccination in the city.
“We are expanding our coverage to this age group as soon as we have additional doses.
There is a cellular team, we have opened a session on weekends and national holidays and has also started a night session with a fast speed of drive,” DHS said.
