Chandigarh: Need for O2 cylinders in the home Drops

CHANDIGARH: Using a dip in Covid-19 instances, the requirement for oxygen tanks for patients under house isolation has dropped drastically.
According to the data gathered by the UT government, the requirement for oxygen through e-permit was nine and 15 per day from May 15 to May 23.
However, May 24 onwards, that the daily requirement gradually diminished and in the last few days, just 1 oxygen cylinder has been delivered.
According to statistics (May 15 to June 2), the UT administration, through personal sellers, has contributed 129 oxygen tanks.
Yashpal Garg, nodal officer for oxygen equipment in Chandigarh, stated since the requirement for oxygen has surfaced, they also have eliminated the quota program for hospitals.
From the current oxygen audit of private and government hospitals, that had been launched from the UT government in May, it had been detected that the intake of this gasoline decreased by 20-25 percent.
The committee highlighted by the UT government had filed its own report on UT physician secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, emphasizing the 20-25% clinical oxygen intake had dropped after sensitisation push from the board members, such as physicians in private and government hospitals.
Garg stated that the Union government has given the daily quota of 20 MT of medical oxygen to UT in M/s INOX Barotiwala.
This medical oxygen has been used for GMCH-32, GMSH-16 along with also the Covid Hospital in Sector 48.
The personal health care institutions were catered from the quota.
Also, three oxygen production plants have been commissioned lately in such hospitals.
He stated efforts set up by the UT government had led in smooth distribution of oxygen from town.
Currently, UT has adequate oxygen tanks, therefore it was determined to lift the lien adjusted for hospitals, he added.
Only 9 patients at Sec 48 hospital The UT government had recently made a decision to shut down the Sector 48 Covid hospital and keep it to a standby.
On Thursdaythere have been just nine patients .
The UT had determined that no fresh Covid patient could be delivered into the Sector 48 hospital unless all of beds at Covid wards and ICUs were complete of GMCH-32, that will maintain a buffer of 10 beds to look after emergencies,” said Yashpal Garg, nodal officer for Covid administration at GMCH-32.
