Chandigarh reported 129 new Covid cases, 2 deaths

Chandigarh: City on Saturday reported two covid-19 deaths and 129 new cases.
The victims were a 62-year-old man (not vaccinated) from Manimajra who had kidney disease and a 95-year-old man from sector 7 had diabetes and hypertension.
He was fully vaccinated.
Even while the growth of daily active cases dropped, there were no concessions in everyday death.
Fifteen deaths have been reported in five days.
“Most of the victims have co-morbidity and elderly.
It has become a risk factor in Covid waves before too.
Death will soon fall because the infection rate decreases,” said a public health expert.
The test per million per day in the city has declined.
Chandigarh, which is placed in the upper slot in this country, has slipped to third place.
The national average in tests per million per day is 1,178, while the city has 3,964 tests per million per day.
Also, the weekly testing level is 7.6%, which is below the national average of 11.4%.
There were 197 patients who were hospitalized and were under oxygen support, while 37 patients were in the ventilator.
On Saturday, 319 patients were sent back, taking active cases to 1,907.
There were 90,610 cases confirmed, including 1,137 deaths.
87,566 patients have been repatriated.
The recovery rate is 96.6%.
