Chandigarh: To reach the 75MW target of solar power on August 15, 2023, under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign, Chandigarh financed energy and science and community promotion technology (Crest) plans to establish two floating solar factories in the city.
First of all the 2MW factory will be arranged in sector 39 water works and both solar plants floating the second 500KW will be arranged in Dhanas Lake.
The details were briefed to UT adviser Dharam Pal in a recent meeting by the UT-CEO Special Secretary of CEO Debenda Dalai CEO CEO.
UT has shared details of these projects with the center.
UT has begun to produce 45MW solar power through various projects.
Chandigarh administration has recently requested progress in solar project installations in the city and road maps for further installation of solar plants from peak.
The new and renewable ministry of energy has increased the target of the city solar power generation of 50mW to 69mW, which will be achieved in 2022.
Until now UT has reached a generation of around 45MW.
Recently, the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) has also rejected the PB administration application to implement a renewable energy service company model (Resco) for solar plant installations in the city.
The Crest, has moved Jerc to implement the Resco model in Chandigarh.
Crest, nodal agent project, has proposed this model after the approval then UT administrator v P Singh Badnore as a vigilant resident of initial capital investment.
Under the Resco model, UT has planned that private companies will install solar energy plants on private properties, and in return, weighing on building owners far lower than normal electricity levels for around 15 years (or whatever period is agreed upon by tender).
After that the homeowner will get plants.
Building owners and private companies will sign an agreement.
The factory will be installed under a clean measurement mode, where the solar unit is connected to the building’s electrical system and solar energy exported to a customized grid in terms of units imported from the billing department during the billing cycle.
The deadline is not extended after March 31.
UT giving last year has extended the solar installation deadline until March 31, 2021.
But recently, UT has not extended the deadline.
Last year, extended deadlines when locking applies.
