Jaipur: Courts for people in particular have issued all three notices to the Directorate of Special People who direct them to make changes in the guidelines for distributing scooters to people included in the PWD (Disabled) category under the scheme.
The Divyang Adhikar Mahasangh has objected to the Commissioner for people who have special abilities to make only people with disabilities of locomotor who qualify for the scheme and leave the disabled (PWD) from other categories.
It also raises objections with respect to providing benefits under the scheme to people employed only until the age of 29 years.
The court for people who were specifically able to also express displeasure of the delay in the directorate in giving a reply in this matter despite two reminders.
“There are 21 PWD categories (people with disabilities) in the state.
However, in the guidelines issued by the Directorate, they only make people with disabilities of locomotor who qualify for the scheme.
Others like survivors of acid attacks, people with spectrum disorders Autism, disability speech and language, cerebral palsy, muscle dystrophy, dwarves, those who have hearing loss and other people must also be used as beneficiaries under the scheme, “Vice President, Divyang.
Adhikar Mahanangh previously said.
The Chairperson of the Ashok Minister Gehlot announced in the budget for the financial year 2021-22 that college students and hired young people under the PWD (people with disabilities) will be provided by a scooter under a new scheme.
Rs 15 Crore is intended for the scheme in the budget.
“Directorate officials do not consider the opinion of stakeholders and experts before issuing guidelines and now they delay giving a reply to the court,” said Goyal.
