‘Changpas lives in peace with wildlife’

Writing at the time of awakening, he discussed the challenges of the environment, Changpa’s wandering, now facing:
The sun shines, making the grasslands look golden.
We headed to the Changthang plateau at Ladakh to continue our involvement with Changpa’s wanderer, looking for solutions for people and wildlife facing increasingly limited circumstances.
Dawa, our field assistant, navigated our vehicles along the ancient waders of the Indus Pirus.
From the mountain came the monastic order song which had formed Buddhism in the region.
There are signs of modernity too – a gusts take the polythene bag motley, scattered carelessly by visitors.
The air turns brown by soot from a diesel vehicle and I wonder why we humans finally damage the place we love?
