Chandigarh: Chairman of the Minister of Punjab Chararjit Singh Channi on Monday directing all government officials and employees at the state level and those in the district to reach their office at 9am and remain available to the public until the closing time in generation.
The official spokesman of the state government said the move was to ensure discipline in the government office.
“While emphasizing the need to bring transparency in the government office, CM also directs all officers and employees to handle all complaints of people based on priority,” spokesman added.
“To ensure the availability of all government officials and employees in the office during official hours, the administrative secretary and head of the department will conduct a surprise examination twice a week to keep the vigil on employees working under them,” CM Channi said.
