Chandigarh: Congress announced the first list of 86 candidates for the election of the Punjab on Saturday, Fielding CM Chararjit Singh Channi and PCC head Navjot Singh Sidhu from their existing seats, while betting on Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala from Malvika Sood Sood from Manda and Sunil Jakhar’s nephew Sandeep Jakhar from Abrohar.
Playing securely in the five of the five contests, Congress has decided to repeat most of the MLA, including all 17 cabinet ministers, except Brahm Mohindra, who have emptied the patiala (rustic) seat for his son Mohit.
Channi has been heard back from the constituency of Chamkaur Sahib, while Navjot Sidhu will return to try his luck from Amritsar (East).
Punjab went to election on February 14 for all assembly constituencies 117.
The party has dropped four mlast sitting: Harjot Kamal was ignored for the sake of Malvika Sood and joined BJP.
The party has bet on Rupinder Kaur Ruby, who joined the party after winning the last election on the AAP ticket.
He has been derived from the Malout in the place of Mla magic Singh Bhatti.
Other MLA, Balwinder Singh Laddi, has been dropped from Hargobindpur to make a way for Mandeep Singh Ragar Nangal.
Laddi joined BJP briefly only to return to Congress.
From the Balluana chair (SC), MLA Nathu RAM has been replaced with Rajinder Kaur.
Register, by the way, bear the navjot sidhu stamp.
He also had an incision in pushing Naresh Puri’s nomination to Sujanpur.
Supported by Sidhu, Gurpeet Singh GP will also maintain the seat Pathana Bassi even though Channi wants his sister, Manohar Singh, to be placed there.
Former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has been named after Lehra even though he lost his last election.
Contrary to speculation that Channi can also compete from the second seat – adamil in Doaba – the party has provided the ticket to the former BSP Sukhwinder leader Singh Kotli.
Four of the five ministers in the Amarinder Singh cabinet handed down last year had been given a ticket.
They are Balbir Singh Sidhu (Mohali), Sunder Sham Arora (Hoshiarpur), Gurpreet Singh Kangar (Rampura Phul) and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot (Nabha).
But this party hasn’t involved someone from Teacher Har Sahai, represented by former Minister of Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi who joined BJP.
The party has also lowered two representatives of CMS – Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Op Soni – from Dera Baba Nanak and Amritsar Central, respectively, the chairs they have represented.
“The party has been careful to avoid large losses such as the Alliance between BJP and former CM Party Amarinder Singh is waiting to be toxic to the dissatisfied MLAS congress,” said a party leader.
