Ahmedabad: The chaotic scene was witnessed in several covid-19 inoculation centers in Ahmedabad on Wednesday because people appeared in large quantities to take JAB in the midst of a short supply of vaccines in the city of Gujarat.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) struggled to meet its target to empty one lakh person per day because of the number of vaccines supplied, officials said.
In many vaccination centers in Ahmedabad, especially in the eastern part of the city, people queue from the early hours of the morning to utilize a token for a limited number of distributed vaccinations.
Many centers even install boards that say vaccine ‘covishield’ is not available.
A recipient at the Bodakdev urban health center here said, “I came early so I could get tokens for vaccines.
They gave a token to only 100 people.
I came for the second day today and was lucky to get tokens.” Long queues too Seen in other vaccination centers in areas such as Khokhra, Amraiwari, Vastral, with people emerged early on being vaccinated.
AMC on June 20 said it has set a target of vaccination by one lakh per day, after the state government launched the spot registration facility.

In accordance with the vaccination data distributed by AMC, on June 21 38,311 people were vaccinated in the city.
The vaccination figures for the next eight days were 39,541, 41,887, 41,390, 33,355, 27,509, 20,158, 22,506, and 25,289.
AMC Medical Officer Bhavin Solanki said, “We get less supplies of vaccines, but we vaccinate people depending on supply, which varies every day.
Like yesterday, we received 35,000 doses.
Some days we received 20,000 doses, or even 13,000 doses.

“The similar situation was witnessed in several centers in Rajkot.
People complain about deviations and lack of the right system for vaccination because they cannot be inoculated.
On Sabarkantha, several centers installed a board that said there was no vaccination that would be carried out until they received a vaccine supply.
The Gujarat government on Tuesday said 40% of the eligible population in this country had received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
The Covid-19 vaccination drive was launched in Gujarat along with other states on January 16 this year.
From May 1, Gujarat launched a drive to vaccinate people in the age group of 18-44 years in the phase before expanding it across the country.
On Tuesday, Gujarat reported 93 new Covid-19 cases, second day in a row daily count below 100, took the Coronavirus calculation to 8.23,433, while 326 patients recovered from infection, in accordance with the State Health Department.
