New Delhi: Former Indian Pacer Venkatesh Prasad has revealed that Pacer Deepak Chahar, who has done well in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, had been told to get out of Cricket to find another job by Australian coach Greg Chappell in time at Academy Cricket Rajasthan.
The 28-year-old Chahar played a knock on the winner of the match in the second Odi victory who won against Sri Lanka.
Prasad refers to when Chappell was appointed as Director of Cricket Rajasthan Cricket Academy by former head of IPL Lalit Modi after he resigned from the position of the Indian coach.
“Deepak Chahar was rejected by Greg Chappell at RCA for his height and was told to see a different job.
And he was alone to win the match even with his main skills,” Prasad tweeted.
“The moral of the story – believes in yourself and don’t consider coaches abroad too seriously,” said 51-year-old Prasad who played 33 tests with 96 goals between 1996 and 2001.
Especially the right-sleeved PACER tool, Chahar, came out at number eight, Press 82-Ball 69 did not come out to help India raise the three-goal victory in the second Odi against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
“There are exceptions outside the field but with extraordinary talents in India, it’s time for Tim and Franchisee to consume as many Indian coaches and mentors as possible,” Prasad said.
