Mumbai: Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) Mumbai Police has arrested two men for allegedly having a character worth Rs 68.74 Lakh from the outskirts of Chunabhatti here, an official said on Wednesday.
The accusation of Neeraj Kumar Chaudhary (23) and Mukesh Kumar Saha (24) is a member of the gang between countries operating from Bihar and involved in distributing contraband goods to their clients in Mumbai, officials said.
Based on the tip-off, the Worli Anc unit understands the Chaudhary and Saha, which moves suspect in the V N Purav Marg Chunabhatti area, he said.
Police recovered 3.437 kg Charas worth Rs 68.74 lakh from the duo, deputy commissioner of police Datta Nalawade from ANC said.
The defendant had bought medicines from their helpers in Bihar and sold smuggled goods to their clients in Mumbai, he said, adding that the local court had returned the duo to police custody until August 17.
