Mumbai: Arrala police last week filed a Chargesheet against the owner and director of the 90-bed Vijay Vallabh Hospital in Virar where the fire in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) caused by an explosion in AC had killed 15 covid-19 patients and injured three in the early hours April 23.
Chargesheet stated that the defendant knew there might be a fire incident but did not take steps.
Chargesheet, submitted in the Vasai session court, has named the owner of the Bastimal Shah Hospital, his son, Chief Executive Officer Dr.
Dilip Shah (56), and Chief Administrative Officer Dr.
Shailesh Pathak (47) below the 304 part of Kuhi Palan India to guilty of murder no Multiple murder.

Additional Public Prosecutor Jayprakash Patil said there was enough evidence against the hospital.
In Chargesheet, the investigative officer stated that the doctor Shah and Pathak had the knowledge that there might be a possibility of a fire incident in the hospital, but there was no step taken by them.
The investigative officer stated that there was a delay of more than 30 minutes in reporting fire to Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade.
The call was received by the fire brigade at 3.13 in the morning.
The fire vehicle reached the hospital at 3:18 a.m., when the second floor ICU was truly scorched, Chargesheet stated.

NOC issued by VVMC on March 14, 2020 is valid until March 31, 2021.
