Chasing Shelar: HC Problem Notification to Mumbai Mayor

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Thursday issued a notification to Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar who was looking for a response to the request submitted by BJP MLA Ashish Shelar to cancel the registered FIR based on complaints.
HC has directed a pednekar to submit an answer within two weeks.
Judge P B Varale and SP Kilor also accepted the City Police Statement that no compulsion action to be taken towards Shelar in this case and Chargesheet will not be submitted until the next hearing date in HC.
In December last year, the Drive Marine police station registered a violation of Shelar after the Mayor filed a complaint against him for some comments made by him at a press conference.
In his complaint to the police, Pednekar alleged that Shelar had made an insulting statement about him in the context of the cylinder explosion at BDD Chawl in the Worli City area on November 30, which resulted in the death of four people.
On Thursday, Shelan Rizwan Merchant’s advice told the court that MLA only asked questions to Pednekar.
“All press conferences are not attacks on him (pednecar),” he said.
An unfortunate incident has occurred in Worli (explosion) and Shelar, representatives of the elected public, have held a press conference, Merchant said, adding that certain statements, expressing the sadness of the applicant, made.
If there are appropriate actions for Lodging FIR taken, certain prejudices may be caused by his client, he argues.
For this, HC said that while representatives of residents have the right to take problems in the public interest, such people must also be sensitive.
“Such incidents occur in public life, we are aware.
But the responsible person must choose wise words,” said the court.
HC bench also made oral suggestions that both parties tried to resolve this problem peacefully.
“Both parties are responsible.
Both of them occupy an important position in public life.
One of them is a selected representative, respondents (pednecars) represent residents throughout the city.
Why don’t you try to finish it?” Court said.
Bench, however, does not spend a certain direction or forward orders for the parties to resolve this issue peacefully and vice versa, saying that it will issue a notification to the mayor and parties can think of the problem.
HC will hear Shelar’s request further after two weeks.
