CHANDIGARH: Premier medical institute PGI will restart walk in OPDs closed since April 9 shortly.
The choice will be taken on Saturday following the manager meets the heads of sections.
Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, will restart optional operations in Monday.
It’s not even taken a call to OPDs yet.
“we’ve been seeing an increase from non-Covid patients at the crisis as well as in OPDs being conducted with telemedicine,” explained Prof Jagat Ram, manager, PGI.
He stated,”We will be meeting Saturday to choose a last call” The Sector 32 hospital can begin optional surgeries (nonemergency) for all those on waiting list or checked for them throughout the telemedicine appointment.
“We aren’t restarting walk-in OPDs, but also have long teleconsultation timings till 4pm from 9am.
Elective operations will begin from Monday,” explained Dr Jasbinder Kaur, director-principal, GMCH.
