Kanpur: Six gang members cheated more than 500 people on behalf of the making of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Beware of Yojana Arrested by Crime Branch on Sunday.
Branch officials said that their network spread in many other cities in the country.
The crime branch has captured six accused and freezes 6.5 lakh fraud rupees in their account.
They have been identified as Ram Bahadur, a Sachendi resident, Master-Mind of the Gang, Shiv Singh, Lala, Nanke, Babu Singh, all residents of Sajeti and Sonu are also residents of Sachendi.
The police have also recovered eight cellphones from accused accusations then people were asked to deposit a number.
