Check 3 schools per day after reopening, Edu Min notifies officials

Nagpur: As part of the plan to reopen the school, Minister of Education Varsha Gaikwad directs district level officials to survey three schools every day to ensure that all safety protocols are being followed.
On Friday, Gaikwad held a meeting in virtual mode with officials from all states to discuss their readiness for Monday.
Schools in Nagpur will not open until at least January 26.
The decision about it will be taken after reviewing the Covid-19 situation.
It was being repeated that the permit for the reopening of the school from the state was not ‘direction’ to local authorities.
All that has been carried out by the state government is transferring the authority of making decision to local authorities.
So in the end it will be a local body that will decide whether the school under the jurisdiction is reopened or not.
“Most of the districts have shown readiness to start school from Monday,” said Gaikwad in a statement issued to the public.
“I reviewed the readiness for schools reopened with district education officials, city authorities and health.
I have directed the district administration to make decisions about reopening based on local conditions,” he said.
While the standard operating procedure (SOP) for school is more or less the same, some new initiatives have been introduced in the mechanism to oversee the implementation.
Special cells have started compiling data directly to students from different departments.
“I have directed special cells formed to coordinate with district administration to provide daily data on reopening, student vaccination status and health data.
Also, I have asked the district education officials to visit at least three schools per day to survey back,” said Gaikwad .
He added that district education officials were in a constant touch with collectors and CEOs of each field to ensure the resumption of secure schools.
Gaikwad emphasizes the needs of students to vaccinate.
“It is very encouraging to know that vaccination for students aged 15-18 years is taking place at a fast speed.
I begged parents to get their children to be vaccinated to ensure a safe school,” he said.
“Resuming a safe school is our priority.
We appeal to all stakeholders to gather to ensure sustainable education in a safe way,” added the minister.
