New Delhi: International travel can soon be more complicated and requires a constant shooting for a pandemic ending.
Some countries in Europe will receive a person’s vaccination certificate for travel purposes if the final dose has been taken within a certain period of time.
“Vaccines are considered only valid for 270 days.
So if tourists get their last vaccine shot in April 2021, they cannot enter many EU countries,” said Southeast Asia’s head from major European airlines.
Which means the same as you check whether your passport is valid, you might have to start the same check with your Jab certificate too.
For Indians it can mean additional obstacles to travel to the European Union because the booster shots are permitted very few as it is above 60.
Travel agencies in India say time has come for whom the vaccine is approved to meet this new Covid -Pepatiod compliance is enforced by several countries EU.
Other countries also tend to follow the suit.
Officials are confused with such decisions and they want to be based on who suggestions.
“Covid ending should not mean strangling every other industry except Pharma,” said a senior airline official.
According to Schengenvisainfo News, the EU Commission has recommended that all European countries approve the uniform receipt for a vaccination certificate after concluding that the vaccination of two doses does not provide sufficient protection against the virus.
This has been suggested the certificate remains valid for a period of 270 days.
While some EU member countries will soon implement this effectively, others choose for different periods of validity.
The website said this period ranged from 90 French days to Finland and 365 Bulgarian days.
Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Swiss validity are 270 days.
Austria is 180 days.
“Vaccination of two doses is valid for 270 days to enter Austria.
However, to prove your ‘2-G’ status during your stay in Austria, starting February 1, 2022, your 2nd vaccination validity will be reduced to 180 days,” said the travel portal Official Austria.
Children are freed from the requirements to receive additional vaccine doses.
“Switzerland now only accepts the vaccination certificate issued in the last 270 days.
Such decisions were taken by the Swiss Federal Council and meaning the citizens, and tourists, need to receive additional vaccines for their pass to be accepted,” Schengenvisainfo’s website said.
