Kalaburagi: With the increase in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra and Kerala, Chairman of the Bukavaraj Minister Bommai on Tuesday said CheckPost will be established in places where there are village-to-village contacts between Karnataka and neighboring countries.
He also said the police station under jurisdiction would be responsible for such checkpost.
“Our experience since the first and second waves is that infection in Karnataka rose every time Covid-19 spiral cases in our neighboring countries, with whom we have everyday business activities.
We must focus on that area,” said Bommai told reporters .
When asked about weakness in the border area, the main minister said the border was broad and checking occurred at the main examination post.
However, there are contacts with neighboring countries at the village level.
“Today, I will issue a direction to hold the police station responsible for places where there are village-to-village contacts.
We will establish a chartpost in such villages there and use people,” said the head Minister.
For queries about the possibility of locking, semi-locking or weekend hours, Bommai said he had to wait for the views of experts on it.
However, he showed that locking would have a bad effect on the economy.
“We must maintain the economy to move together by treating public health.
That is the thought of our government.
I am looking for public support to contain the spread of disease,” said Bommai.
Regarding the possibility of closing schools and colleges considering the increasing Covid case, Bommai said he would go with what experts said at the meeting at night.
The state on Monday reported 1,290 cases and five deaths at which 1,041 infection and three deaths were in Bengaluru itself.
