LONDON: Chelsea beat his neighbor Brentford 1-0 to keep their grip in the top position of the Premier League on Saturday thanks to Ben Chilwell’s attack but they owe their three points to goalkeeper Edouard Mendy who denied the host with a series of rescue.
Chilwell, returned to the team after shopping at the start of the season, scored for the second consecutive match when Brentford failed to clean and the ball fell kindly for him to attack from 12 meters with half a volley in the 45th minute.
The previous host had hit the post through Bryan Mbeumo and the Frenchman was rejected by wood in the 75th minute when the bee experienced Chelsea to wave after the second attack wave for the equalizer.

In the 83rd minute, Mendy denied Saman Ghoddo when he rushed out of his line to cover the corner, moments before Trevoh Chalobah saved the visitors from Christian Norgaard.
French goalkeeper Chelsea made it better save, including submitting an acrobatic overhead effort by Norgaard during injury time.
Asked to describe the game, Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel told the BBC: “Very strong for 70 minutes, very lucky for 20 minutes.” The match proved the baptism of the fire for Chelsea Malang Sarr which made the league debut at the center of defense, replacing Antonio Rudiger who was injured while Thiago Silva returned to London from the international task to play in Brazil.

The result made Chelsea One Point Clear from Liverpool at the top of the table at 19 points.
