Chennai: Two men accused of double murder cases were shot dead by police at a meeting in the forest area in Tirupulivanam in the Chengalpet district on Friday.
The police said they were acting in ‘self defense’ after two state bombs were thrown on them when they tried to arrest the duo in the morning.
Two police officers suffered injuries.
The murder accused the death shot had been identified as mooden and dinesh.
On Thursday night, Moiden, Dinesh and other men killed M Karthik, 27, aka ‘Appu’ Karthik and S Mahesh, 22.
Karthik and Mahesh are relatives.
Around 19:30 a.m., the carthik was in Teashop near Chengalpet’s raw pole sipping tea when three members of members threw a country bomb to him and hacked him to death.
After committing murder, the same gang entered Mahesh’s house and hacked him to death.
Police Chengalpattu Taluk enrolled the case and launched the hunt for them.
When receiving a tip-off of the defendant hiding in the forest area, the police team, led by Aravindhan police supervisor and Inspector Ravi, reached the place around 7:30 a.m.
and tried to arrest them.

Police shot Moiden and Dinesh died.
Their body was sent to the Chengalpet government hospital.
Moiden was involved in three murder cases, while Dinesh was involved in one case.
The motive behind the double murder case is still confirmed.
Police detained two people, identified as Maran and Jessica, in connection with a double murder case.
