In the first six months of 2021, more than 800 accident cases were reported in the city, most of them were associated with drunk driving.
Because most people are hesitant with Covid-related norms, people who drive or drive a vehicle are asked to explode into breathalyzers who come with a handful holder equipped with disposable plastic straws.
After each use, the straw is packed in the polythene cover that the driver in question is asked to throw away.
Traffic police also frame the standard operating procedure (SOP) to be followed by field officers.
From January 1 to June 30, 2020, there were 1,000 accidents in the city, most of them were driving drunk, against 1,229 accidents throughout 2019 and 1,268 accidents during 2018, most of the 514 accidents were caused by driving in a drunken state involving Bikers.
