Chennai: The case of fresh Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu fell to 1,767 on Tuesday compared to 1,785 on Monday.
However, 13 districts, including Chennai and Kancheepuram, reported marginal increases in new cases.
TN also recorded an increase in daily deaths up to 29 on Tuesday compared to 26 Monday and 22 on Sundays.
Seventeen districts, including Chennai and Kancheepuram, reported zero death on Tuesday.
New cases in Chennai, who were declining, saw a sudden increase on Tuesday.
New cases in the city fell from 133 on July 22 to 122 cases on Monday.
On Tuesday, the city reported 139 cases.
With this increase, the city reported the second highest number of new cases in the state after coimbatore (169).
Casimbatore cases also see a marginal increase of 164 cases reported on Monday.
“Although there is a stable decline in cases throughout the state, several districts are highlands or increase marginally.
This has slowed the value of the fall,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
“The choice of individuals and chips on Covid behavior is appropriate to play an important role in maintaining low infection.
People must wear masks and maintain social distance at any time,” he said.
A scrambler, who reported six cases on Tuesday, continued to report the lowest number of cases in the state, followed by Ramanathapuram (9).
After using 2,312 people from the Covid Registry, TN was left with 22,188 active cases at the end of the day.
Prohibiting Coimbatore, Chennai, Erode (132), and Thanjavur (102), all other districts reported less than 100 cases on Tuesday.
The active case of all districts fell below the 2,000 mark.
Coimbatore, which has 2,028 people under treatment on Monday, has 1,947 active cases on Tuesday.
Chennai has 1,840 active cases, scrapes 1,410 and 1,400 salem.
Of the 29 deaths, Coimbatore and Chengalpet reported three of each, followed by two each in Erode, Tiruvallur, Namakkal and Ariyalur.
Fifteen districts reported one death and 17 reported zero death.
On Monday, 22 districts reported zero death.
