CHENNAI: The range of containment zones from town has halved in only 1 week, official information published by Greater Chennai Corporation shown.
Even a containment zone is a road which has over 10 active Covid-19 instances.
Official data indicates that there have been 365 containment zones May 31.
Only a week ago, on May 24, there have been 765 containment zones.
Furthermore, the amount of roads with one active instance has also decreased from approximately 6,200 to 4,400.
These signs offer another proof of this rapid dip in the spread of this viral disease in town – a fashion that officials and experts have credited to the lockdown along with the civic body’s most detailed steps to suppress the spread.
Based on official statistics, the northern (zones 1-5) area recorded a 58 percent reduction in many containment zones and the central area (zones 6-10) that a 56% dip.

According to May 31, just Jaswanth Nagar at Mogappair West, Konnur High Road at Ayanavaram plus also a P Patro Salai at K K Nagar have over 40 active instances.
