Chennai: An Octogenarian woman with a protracted health condition ended her life on Sunday, jumped from the ninth floor of the 13-storey building opposite the New College in Peters Road in Royapettah.
Police said the woman who had died, Lakshmi Savithidi Devi, 81, Andhra Pradesh’s native, left a suicide note at his son’s son of Babu.
He said in his note that he fought against health problems for the past two years in a company hospital, with his bill ran to Lakh Rupee.
“I can’t stand this pain anymore,” Read Note.
Fast CCTV cameras in the apartment complex where he lived with his son showed that he left his son’s house around 3am on Sunday and walked to the ninth floor from where he jumped to the ground shortly after that.
The security guard rushed to the place after hearing a loud voice and found him lying in a pool of blood.
Residents rushed to the Royapettah Government Hospital (GRH), where the doctor said he died.
