Chennai: Armed gangs who plan to kill rivals held

Chennai: A gang of six members has been arrested for kidnapping and robbing a man to buy a weapon to kill history-sheeter at Red Hills on Saturday night.
The police confiscated a gun, three country-made bombs, and four swords from them.
On October 15, S King, from Padianallur at Red Hills was kidnapped by Six accused.
They combined it into the car and took it away.
The police said the king was running gambling in Vijayanlatur.
The gang kidnapped the king and demanded one lakh from him, but received 26,000 from him before helping him near Maduravoyal the next day.
Based on his complaint, the police registered a case and launched the hunt for the suspects.
On Friday night, a special team broke into a house in Madhanakuppam near Red Hills and secured a gang, besides winning three state bombs, four machets, and several cellphones from the defendant.
The defendant was later identified as Set Setupathi, 32, Vijay, 26, both of them from Red Hills, Vignesh, 26 of Kanchepuram, Balakrishnan, 24 of Kancheepuram, Tamilarasan from Gandhi Nagar, Saravanan, 24 of Sholavaram.
Interrogation with them revealed that they had hatched plans to kill one Muthu Ganesh, who will visit the birthday of the death of Sheeter Palani from Vyasarpadi next month.
