Chennai: The Greater Chennai Corporation has begun managing a booster dose of the Covid-19 door-to -door vaccine.
Data from the Ministry of Health showed 1,938 people have used services on January 11.
On Monday, 1.041 took a booster shot.
The dose is only available for only 73,000 senior citizens who qualified because they have taken the previous nine-month covid vaccine dose.
To take a booster dose, nine months should have disappeared since taking the second dose.

The booster dose is available in 196 centers, where 15 will function 24×7.
According to the GCC, among those who qualified, 37,301 were health workers, 6,925 frontline workers and 29,338 senior citizens.
Corporate Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi said, “Until now, we have 73,000 people who are eligible to take a booster dose.
We have vaccinated 1,041 people on January 10, the first day of the door-to-door service is available.
All urban primary health care centers and the center Public health provides vaccination.
“The Civic body has formed 15 teams for house vaccination.
However, corporate officials encourage those aged 60 years and over with comorbidity to visit the centers to vaccinate because door service to door will only be available for a number of people every day.
“We have adequate vaccine stock.
The coverage of the booster dose will be higher if people who meet the requirements visit the centers to be investigated,” said an official.
Also, the focus is more on the second dose vaccination for elderly citizens.
There is no doctor’s certificate requirement to take advantage of this dose.
In accordance with Civic’s body data, from the total population that meets the 55-lakh requirements, 40.32 lakh has been given the second dose.
“The main goal is to get all populations to complete the vaccination path,” said an official.
