Chennai College plans a two-week bridge course for freshener

Chennai: With class XII students attended many of their classes online last year because pandemic-induced lumbers, colleges were worried about the ability of students to understand and study topics at the undergraduate level.
To fill the gap in online learning, City College plans to conduct bridge courses for two weeks to refresh the basic concepts in class XII before taking them into regular syllabus for 2021-22.
The college has, therefore, urges the government to allow them to major offline bridges while following all Covid-19 protocols.
Applications and online receipt process will begin on July 26.
“The bridge course is very important for first year students.
We must quickly revise the XII class syllabus based on the program they selected.
If necessary, we will teach them fundamentally.

Universities must face challenges including low concentration levels, maintain their focus for five hours and facilitate them in advanced learning, he added.
D G Vaishnav College plans to refresh the two students and refreshts that already exist because they all only undergo online learning modes last year.
“Even students with high grades in class XII may have a learning gap because of online learning modes,” he said.
Madras Christian College Principal Paul Wilson said the course of carrying out the online bridge would not be meaningful.
“We are doing a bridge just because of problems in online class.
Faculty members can assess students well and understand their learning gaps only during offline classes,” he said.
Teacher Nanak College has framed the syllabus for all departments to conduct bridge courses for first year students.
“Usually, we will do bridge courses for mathematics, computer science and English courses.
For this academic year, we have asked all departments including physics, chemistry, botany, zoology to prepare syllabus for bridge courses to relieve the transition,” said the principal Mg Ragunathan.
“After receipt, we will do a bridge course to fill the gap.
Only after this course, will we start a regular syllabus for first year students,” he added.
Lilian Jasper, christian College Principal, said college plans to do bridge courses up to one week for freshener.
“Depending on the subject, the duration of bridge courses can be expanded to help children refresh the basic concepts,” he said.
