Chennai: The pair killed their 10-year-old son before ending their lives in New Washermenpet on Wednesday.

In a suicide note, they are not responsible for their deaths and quotes poverty as a reason.
The note is believed to have been written by the only family breadwinner, Siverji, 43, tailor.
While Sivaji was found hanging at home, his wife Vanitha, 34, and Son Vetrivel, 10, a class V student, was found to lie dead on the bed.
Vatsala Sivaji’s mother-in-law who lived near Venkatessan Alit Street peered into their home because they did not step out for a long time.
Information, the new Washermenpet police reached the place and sent the body to postmortem.
Police said that it was not clear whether Sivaji’s wife and son consumed poisons or if they were killed by Sivaji before the last one died of suicide.
Cases have been registered and further investigations are active.
The initial question revealed that Sivaji had borrowed money during locking to run his family and struggle to resolve debts.
The police are investigating if Sivaji is being harassed by the money lender.
