Chennai: The scrambling district on Tuesday reported zero new Covid-19 cases and a dozen other districts recorded a marginal increase of up to six cases.
The Daily Case of TN fell to 973 cases on Tuesday compared to 990 on Monday.
After 1,114 people were up, 11,147 left in the list of active cases of Coimbatore (114) and Chennai (109) remained the only district with more than 100 cases each.
The sharpest surge in the daily calculation is in Mayiladuthurai, with six more zero cases on Monday.
At least 23 districts reported less than 20 new cases and 12 of them had less than 10 cases.
21 deaths including five in Chennai took the victim to 36, 157.
TN cases counted 27.04 lakh.
The launch of the minister of MA Subramanian’s Door-To-Door vaccination launched the door-todoor vaccination from Chengalpet.
A doctor and two nurses will visit more than 79,000 hamlet villages other than the city and city wards for vaccination.
This vehicle will travel every day of the week.
“The aim is to encourage the first dose coverage of 71% to 100% at the end of November and encourage everyone to take the second dose,” Minister said.
On Tuesday, at least 61 lakh people matured for their second dose.
From this, 48 lakh people matured for covisheild and 13 lakh for Covaxin.
On Tuesday, 95,552 people took vaccines that pushed the total number of doses in the state to 5.6 crores.
The number of people who were vaccinated in private hospitals touched 26.6 doses of lakh.
The state has also sought assistance from the Ministry of Education to disseminate awareness among students about the need for adult vaccination and covid protocols including masks and social distance
