Chennai: Customs officials at Chennai Airport have confiscated spiders and exotic drugs.
Based on information, Chennai Air Customs interculted the postal package that arrived at the Foreign Post Office from Poland, said the official release on Thursday.
The gift was aimed at someone at Gajulaka at Andhra Pradesh.
When opening a parcel, the thermocol box is found.
The box contains 10 small plastic bottles wrapped in silver and cotton foil.
On examination, life spiders are found in each bottle.
Animal quarantine officials check spiders and recommend returning packages that contain species to the country of origin because the import is illegal and there is no DGFT license (foreign Directorate General) and imported documents related to India.
