Chennai: A 47-year-old man, who was arrested in the case of theft and was released with a guarantee on November 10, died of suicide because his family members refused to admit his house in Chintadripet on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as a Velu, 47, a Coolie, was arrested by police Wing Crime Anna Silai last month and sent to a Puzhal prison.
After serving a few weeks in prison, the Velu was given a guarantee and walked out of prison on November 10 after returning home, he continued to live with his friends.
Knowing the history of the jailbird, his employer did not take the velu at the job.
Because the Velu could not get money to his family for home spending, his children rebuke him, and his wife often fought with him.
Missing these problems, they did not let him go into his home for the past few days.
Velu roam the road and sleep on the road outside his house.
On Thursday, he quarreled with his family and continued to bang the main door locked from inside.
A sad Velu took some gasoline from two-wheeled vehicles parked nearby and watered it on his body.
He threatened to commit suicide if his family members did not let him enter.
Afer did not get a response, the Velu made him burn.

The Velu family member came out of their home and poured water on it to delay the fire.
Police said the Velu, which lasted about 80% of the burns, was rushed to the Kilpatuk Medical College (KMC) hospital, where he gave up later.
Chintadripet police have registered cases under Section 174 (unnatural death) CRPC.
The police have launched further investigation in this case.
