Chennai: Evr Silai Digs, Traffic Is Disturbed

Chennai: Traffic on the Poonamallee High Road (EVR Silai) artery has been beaten badly, especially during rush hour, because the state highway department that builds the culverts to allow rainwater flow during the rainy season.

A senior police officer said the work had to be done all the time because the traffic at the main intersection could not remain disturbed for more than a week.
Jobs will be completed in three days and traffic will be continued, he said.
By working at the Ritingdon Road and Vepery are expected to begin next week, the police are studying the pattern of traffic to take steps to ensure that disruption to motorists and other road users is minimal.

The state highway department will take two days to put every culverts and six days to complete the entire job, the official said.
