Chennai: The Fire Department and Rescue Department mobilized 900 firefighters and all fire equipment had been stored in readiness to attend an emergency because Chennai received heavy rain on Sunday.
Fire officials, coordinating with Corporation Chennai and disaster management departments, identifying vulnerable locations.
Volunteers have been positioned in each segment.
Each district firefighters have formed the WhatsApp group where information will be exchanged for inundation and they need help to save.
According to N Priya Ravichandran, a joint director, northern region, vehicle fire with the necessary equipment has been placed in Ashok Nagar and Kilpuk to proceed to places that require rescue operations.
“We coordinate with other departments and share information about rescue work,” he said.
Fire Service Director and Rescue Karan Lion asked all firefighters and personnel to become fragrant during a widespread rainfall.
The department has trained first respondents in all districts.
